
God is more interested in faithfulness than he is in talent.
Many talented people will receive very little if any reward for their work because they lack the quality of faithfulness. Many people who have little talent are going to receive great rewards because they are faithful. An old janitor spent hour upon hour shining the golden candelabra that sat on the church piano, often times taking it home on Saturday night to make sure it was polished brightly for Sunday morning. His somewhat cynical teenage son asked him on one such occasion, "Pop, why do you even bother. I bet no one even notices or even cares about that old candlestick anyway." "Ah," came the reply, "but my KING notices!" You see, when it comes to serving in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, no task is too trivial, nor any job too small, for in the end our King does notice.
